Now it`s official. My new hometown is Brooklyn, New York. It`s such a great, yet a surrealistic feeling knowing that I`m about to live here for the upcoming months. Well, I can hardly believe that I`ve already lived here for a week now. Could easily write a book about everything that I´ve experienced this first week, but I rather keep it short this time.
So, I share apartment with three awesome guys. Benjamin is a musician and part-time service provider for Apple clients. It will be exiting following Bens career from now since he got some very interesting things going for him. Jeff is another roommate that I`ve spent a lot of time with. He works as a lifeguard at Long Island in the summertime. Nowadays he is free to do whatever so that makes a perfect match for me. The last guy, Tommy, works as a programmer for Bloomberg.
The apartment is located in Woodruff Ave in Brooklyn. The amazing Prospect Park is just a block away. Walking there is just like you would imagine it would be. Squirrels coming right up to you in the sunshine while people do all kinds of activities such as biking, running, horse riding & yoga.
If I were to sum up my first week in NYC in one word it has to be; exploring. Mostly I`ve used my time getting to know my neighbourhood and the city. This is actually the first day that I not walking aimlessly around in the city. The main reason is that last night Tommy took me to this lovely cafeteria that will be my new favorite hangout spot. The place is called Tea Lounge and the concept is nothing but awesome. More on that in another post.
Under you will find some pictures that I`ve taken the last few days. Everything from a flea market in Williamsburg to Occupy Wall Street.
That`s it for now, but since I got the blog up and running it will be easier to keep you guys updated on what is going down in the big city. You hear from me soon, but until then take care.
J.
